High Force
The Bowes Museum has a nationally renowned art collection, together with a sizeable collection of decorative art, ceramics, textiles, tapestries, clocks and costumes, as well as older items from local history. A great attraction is the 18th century Silver Swan automation. (Approx 7 miles)
High Force is a waterfall on the River Tees, near Middleton-in-Teesdale, the waterfall is within the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty. (Approx 8 miles)
